About us

The Gender and Digital Knowledge Platform is an Innovative Research and Knowledge Platform to shape Gender Transformative Programming made possible in partnership with Mastercard Foundation

Policy Guide

The platform will also serve as a policy guide on the opportunities and barriers to connecting women to dignified and fulfilling work using technology as an enabler to drive thought leadership and advance evidence-based gender policy and practice. Through research that gives agency and voice to the many women we reach through our program at Soronko Academy, the platform will amplify the voices of women from different backgrounds, and educational levels with different needs.

Ecosystem Players

It will also highlight key players working to promote female education, employment, and entrepreneurship and their interventions. This will bring more visibility to different ecosystem players and create the stage for collaboration. We need to break the silos in the ecosystem and allow different players to be able to engage, connect, and scale interventions to create transformational and systemic change.

Thought Leadership

The platform will also have a section on education, employment, and entrepreneurship opportunities and break down the barriers to involve a contextual understanding of the root cause.

Storytelling

Storytelling is very important and visibility is another key component. The portal will showcase gender champions, stories of women breaking all odds to thrive and paying it forward, and initiatives that are really driving system change when it comes to the Gender conversation.

Learning Portal

The platform will also have a learning portal, the Gender Academy where users can learn all things gender in Ghana and also examples of best practices and use cases from other countries.

The Mastercard Foundation works with visionary organizations to enable young people in Africa and in Indigenous communities in Canada to access dignified and fulfilling work. It is one of the largest private foundations in the world with a mission to advance learning and promote financial inclusion to create an inclusive and equitable world. The Foundation is an independent organization and its policies, operations, and program decisions are determined by its own Board of Directors and senior leadership team.

Young Africa Works is the Mastercard Foundation’s strategy to enable 30 million young Africans, 70 percent of whom will be young women, to access dignified and fulfilling work. Africa will be home to the world’s largest workforce, with 375 million young people entering the job market by 2030. With the right skills, these young people will contribute to Africa’s global competitiveness and improve their lives and those of their communities,
