a. Equality and Freedom from Discrimination; Art. 17 (2)
2. A person shall not be discriminated against on grounds of gender, race, color, ethnic origin, religion, creed or social or economic status.“
b. Women’s Rights; Art. 26 (1 – 3)
1. Special care shall be accorded to mothers during a reasonable period before and after child-birth; and during those periods, working mothers shall be accorded paid leave. Women shall be guaranteed equal rights to training and promotion without any impediments from any person.”
c. Political Objectives (Constitution); Art. 35 (5) (6)
(5) The State shall actively promote the integration of the peoples of Ghana and prohibit discrimination and prejudice on the grounds of place of origin, circumstances of birth, ethnic origin, gender or religion, creed or other beliefs.“
(6b) Towards the achievement of the objectives stated in the clause of this article, the State shall take appropriate measures to achieve reasonable regional and gender balance in recruitment and appointment to public offices.”
